REFLECTION | 08 School La Vitxeta (Reus)

Our teacher explained us a project that this school in Reus is doing, which involves families to achieve results. The title of the project is: English at home and back to school.

I think that they are a great example to show that it is not impossible to involve the families in the process of learning a foreing language. I really like how do they deal with the families, and even more the big amount of activities thay they do to make the families participate. These activities are:

Blog: parents can write all the experiences they want related to English at home.

Stories at home: students bring a folder to their houses. This folder contains many activities that they have to do with their parents help. Families can also create a "lapbook", in which they can show their own ideas.

Cd's: parents can play the cd's that their chlidren listen in class at home.

English bags: they are full of stories and acitivities in english to explain and do at home.

Munchy: it is a puppet, and each week a family brings it at home!

Family meetings: the teacher explains to the families what are they working in at class, so that they can know excactly what are their children doing.
