REFLECTION | 09 Tuning into the language

With this post I start the second part of the blog: the pronunciation. In this second part I will show the big amount of activities we have done at class, specially those that I really think are funny and useful to practice pronuntiation with the students.

First of all, I would like to talk about the concept "tuning into the language". What does it mean? Well, as teachers we have to convinced that our main purpose of the English lesson is that children have to feel comfortable. So tuning into the language have to be with this, they have to personalize their English and feel good with it. The best wey of doing it is through games, because while they are playing they are learning!

For me, pronunciation has to be with the entonation, the repetition and the correct sound of the vowels. Since we start this second part of the subject I've never though about teaching pronunciation to my students, but then I realized that its fundamental if we want our learners to speak a perfect or an almost perfect English.

The next posts are going to be based on a mind map that we construct together with our teacher and my classmates. The teacher has shown us a lot of strategies to practise pronunciation, and all of them are games.
